What is a composite door?

Composite refers to a mixture of materials which complement each other and achieve a better result than their individual components wen put together. A composite door is a mixture of a reinforced uPVC door frame for strength and energy efficiency with a solid foam core door slab with an attractive fibreglass skin. Composite doors are both highly energy efficient and have increased security benefits over traditional uPVC doors.

Not only are composite doors the most efficient and strongest doors available, they are also very attractive and designed to look like a painted hardwood door. Woodgrain finishes are also available which look like treated wood, available in light oak, rosewood and irish oak.

Door energy ratings are different from window energy ratings as it is much harder to achieve an a-rating with a external uPVC or composite door. However our composite doors are available with an A rated door energy rating in some designs with less glass.
